Food for Thought

Greetings, my Sisters in Christ!!

I thank God for His many blessings, and pray His continued blessings upon each one of you.

May His holy spirit rest upon us all, in our time together today, in Jesus name, Amen.

Today's word is Fear.

How many times did you feel fearful this week?

You know, that anxious feeling we get, when our heart begins to race..

Or we feel nervous about something?

Once?

Twice?

A few times?

What if I told you fear is a SPIRIT?

Would that surprise you?

Would that give us more reason to address this toxic companion once and for all?

Or would we still allow Fear to have free reign in our lives,

When absolutely we don't have to?

We all know the scripture in 2 Timothy 1:7, where Paul encourages

Timothy to push past his fears of Pastoring a new church:

"For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love,

and a sound mind."

Paul is reminding Timothy, that he already HAS the Spirit of GOD within him,

which gives him Power, Love and a Sound Mind.

And he tells him that God did not give him the "Spirit of Fear" that he is experiencing.

Paul didn't say directly that it's an evil spirit.

But let's look closer.

In Matthew 16: 21-23, we see Jesus speaking to his disciples about his upcoming crucifixion:

"From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.

But he(Jesus) turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men."

Wow!

Did Jesus just call Peter, Satan?

But why?

Because Peter was speaking out of FEAR.

Or shall I say, speaking out of a SPIRIT OF FEAR.

And that Spirit, was being manipulated by Satan himself

And rather than play with either of them,

Jesus just shut it ALL down, by calling the Spade the Spade.

Do you know we have the same Power?

Power over fear

Power over sickness

Power to cast out devils!

In Jesus Name!

So I exhort you today, My Sisters of Faith!

Come out of the influence of the Spirit of FEAR

And walk in the POWER Of GOD!

The POWER to be more than an Overcomer.

In Jesus' name!

The POWER to Love your enemies.

In Jesus' name!

The POWER to say to the sycamore tree, be thou plucked up by the roots,

and it shall be done.

In Jesus' name!

The POWER to lay your hands on the sick and they shall recover.

In Jesus' name!

The POWER to call those things that are NOT as though they WERE.

In Jesus' name!

Do you believe the promises, Sis?

Stop pacifying the lies of FEAR

And come out from among them and be ye separate!

Walk according to the Truth of God's word, rather than

the influence of men.

In Jesus Name! Amen?

May the Father of light comfort you in your heart and mind.

As you continue your race with boldness and strength.

Trusting only in HIM, the lifter of your head,

And the lover of your Soul.

May His word be lamp unto your feet, a light unto your path

and Food for your Soul.
