Something Better

Hey Sis! 

Happy New Year, 2024! 

Are you ready for MORE this year? 

Something New. 

How bout Something BETTER! 

I heard something interesting over the weekend and confirmed to ME, that it- is-my-TIME! 

It was a story about a daughter and her mother who seemed to struggle on a daily basis as told by the mother who was clearly at her wits end. 

So much so, that she spoke about a day when her daughter interrupted her as she was speaking to another adult, and said, "She's lying" - referring to her mother. 

I KNOW Right?! 

It was really a SAD story, even though her mother was clearly upset 

Because the daughter in the story was only 7 years old. 

And with me being on the outside looking in, it became crystal clear to me, 

That this little girl was troubled in some way by the actions of her mother. 

You know kids tell the truth about ALL your business!  

Often the bold truth and nothing but the truth, right? 

So how do you reprimand a child for telling the TRUTH? 

You don't. 

In John 8: 32 it says, 

                           "and you will know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH shall set you free" 

So as I listened to the frustration of this mother, I realized there was some truth buried in this story that had the power to set her and her daughter both free. 

My first thought was, what exactly was the mother lying about? 

Then an after thought was, why did this LIE bother the daughter so that she felt compelled to expose it? 

As I reflected, I remembered that this whole conversation started from my asking about an injury I saw on the mother's foot. 

She told me, she had 'fell' rushing down the stairs because of items that were left on the stairs by the daughter. 

Then it HIT me!

The little girl exposed the TRUTH, because she was the one being LIED on. 

But I realized that this was only the surface of the REAL issue....

WHY would the mother lie about something so trivial?

DING! DING! DING! 

Because she wasn't ready to KNOW the truth, and that's why IT hadn't set her free yet. 

IT'S A NEW YEAR, LADIES!! 

With SOMETHING BETTER in store for ALL of us! 

IF! 

We are ready to face the UGLY truths about last year, and ALLOW that truth to set us free! 

Because the bottom line is this...

Ugly or not, the truth is still the TRUTH! 

In order for me to tell YOU a lie, I have already LIED.... to....myself 

And I am the WORST person I need to be lying to, Sis! 

This little girl didn't care about the clothes on the stairs, because she knew she didn't do it. 

BUT!

What she DID care about 

Was what really caused her mother's injury, and since she KNEW the truth, 

She is READY for it to be exposed so she and her mother can be free! 

Ladies! 

Please believe me when I say, 

You will never get to something BETTER, holding on to something BROKEN.

Never! 

If it didn't work last year, why are we STILL trying to fix it?

If it didn't bring you success, why are you STILL doing it?

If HE didn't love you right last year, why... is... HE... STILL... there? 

Are you still holding on to the lies you have told yourself? 

Because there IS something better, Sis!! 

And it's waiting for you... 

THIS YEAR! 

But in order for you to receive it...

You must OPEN your hand, 

So you can LET GO! 

Of everything and everyone that is not bringing value to your life. 

Because if it doesn't ADD life, it is TAKING life from you! 

Stop lying to yourself, Sis. 

And don't be lying on them babies, either (lol) 

You KNOW the truth, 

And this is your NEW year, so hit the ground running toward the newness of it! 

Allow Jesus to do a NEW thing and let the truth of HIS word set you FREE! 

Because I promise you...

He definitely has SOMETHING BETTER for YOU and for ME.  

And WE are so worth it!
