Welcome to a special update from Pathway2anewu! Many of you have noticed that our community has not been as active recently, and I want to share the reason why. I've been on a personal health journey, dealing with achalasia, a condition affecting my esophagus. This journey has required much of my energy and focus, but it has also been a period of deep spiritual growth and reliance on God's Word. Now, I'm excited to share my testimony of faith, healing, and the scriptures that have carried me through. Let’s embark on this journey together, standing on the scriptures that heal and restore!
My Healing Journey
When I was diagnosed with achalasia, my world turned upside down. The constant struggle with swallowing and the pain associated with every meal was overwhelming. Many people had no idea that after sharing a meal, I was often in the bathroom about 30 minutes to an hour later, throwing up. My condition got so bad that I began to choke on liquids. When I was told surgery was needed, God had already given me a calmness in my spirit.
During the surgery, the doctors found something on my liver. I remember the surgeon saying, "You’re going to need another surgery. It doesn’t look good." Despite this news, I never doubted that God had already healed me and that whatever was on my liver was nothing to worry about. I’ll update you on those results next week!
The Strength of My Foundation
As a woman of God rooted and grounded in my faith, and a preacher of the gospel, finding myself in need of the same encouragement I offer others was not a challenge. My foundation in faith had prepared me for this moment. I quickly shifted into personal spiritual warfare, standing firm on the scriptures I had so often shared with others.
Scriptures That Strengthened Me
1. Isaiah 53:5
- Scripture: "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed."
- Reflection: This scripture reminded me daily that Jesus bore my sickness and pain on the cross. By His stripes, I am healed. Declaring this truth over my life filled me with hope and faith in God's healing power.
2. Jeremiah 30:17
- Scripture: "For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds, says the Lord."
- Reflection: Holding on to this promise gave me the assurance that God is in the business of restoration. Even when the symptoms were severe, I clung to the belief that God was working to restore my health.
3. Jeremiah 17:14
- Scripture: "Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise."
- Reflection: This verse became my prayer. I repeated it often, believing that God hears my cry for healing and is faithful to answer.
4. Psalm 107:20
- Scripture: "He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions."
- Reflection: I immersed myself in God's Word, knowing that His words have the power to heal. Every time I read the Bible, I envisioned God's healing flowing through my body.
5. 3 John 1:2
- Scripture: "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
- Reflection: This verse reassured me that God's desire for me is health and prosperity. It encouraged me to trust in His goodness and care for my well-being.
6. Philippians 4:7
- Scripture: "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
- Reflection: During moments of anxiety and fear, this scripture was my refuge. It reminded me that God's peace is available to guard my heart and mind, bringing calmness and assurance.
7. Isaiah 40:31
- Scripture: "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."
- Reflection: On days when I felt weak, this verse encouraged me to wait on the Lord. I found renewed strength in His presence, knowing that He empowers me to keep going.
8. Psalm 145:8
- Scripture: "The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy."
- Reflection: Reflecting on God's character gave me comfort. Knowing that He is gracious and compassionate reassured me that He cares deeply about my suffering and is with me through it all.
How I Stood on These Scriptures
Standing on these scriptures involved more than just reading them; it required an active and intentional effort to incorporate them into my daily life. Next week I will share the ways I stood on these promises.
As I continue to heal, I look forward to re-engaging with the Pathway2anewu community. Moving forward, we will share a weekly update until I’m able to post more frequently. Thank you for your prayers and understanding during this time. Let us continue to stand on God's promises together, trusting Him for complete healing and restoration.
